There’s a long history of retards making up a birthday for Mikoto Misaka, picking based on absolutely nothing and just spreading it in hopes it’d catch on – and a couple did hold for awhile. However, we finally were told her official canonical date of birth when Misaka Mikoto Maniax came out in late 2013 (I have a copy!). May 2nd, sharing the same birthday as her seiyuu (probably why they picked it – but it’s still canon) and The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. A lot of people who believed heartily in the made up dates from before refused to accept it for awhile (somehow claiming an official publication that the staff, head writer, and creator were all part of making was wrong compared to that arbitrary date they picked because they saw someone on the internet say so) but they’ve mostly shut up or at least kept their stupidity where I can’t see it.
Anyway, today is her birthday, so happy birthday Mikoto! If you say she was 14 when first truly introduced to the world in the first volume of A Certain Magical Index’s light novel then this would be her 25th birthday, not that it really matters given she’s still canonically the same age she always was but that’s just some trivia I suppose.
So I guess here’s some random pictures?

Not only with a big soccer event, but the entire city of Tachikawa had her all over as well during an event with lots of posters, billboards, and various standees in many stores and locations.
That’s all, be sure to wish The Most Electrifying Girl In Anime Entertainment a happy birthday yourself as well or bake her some gekota cookies.

How does this make you feel?

Not much, it’s Index and I fucking hate index and if the last game she was in is any sign of quality the bar is pretty low (dengeki bunko fighting climax). I’m not uninterested but i can’t really say I care either, as by virtue of being an index game it annoys me already and Mikoto as a character is DRASTICALLY different in Index in the worst ways imaginable to the point she’s outright a shitty character in Index. Then with kamachi supposedly writing it if there’s any English version to actually comprehend then the story will be shit too.
Of course it’s for some reason tied with virtual on which could make it kinda fun in a weird way, so I’ll wait till there’s more to actually form an opinion beyond “it’ll probably be shit and I don’t really care”. Might be alright but I have no optimism about it at this point.
As another issue I worry about with it – the recent awful abuse by the Railgun anime character designer with her for twitter favorites and retweet begging makes me worry about almost anything new, as well as the even worse far more disgusting and exploitative shit that they’ve done with her in Railgun’s manga to the point I dropped it after finding out about it and reading the chapters said things happen in. Though I don’t see where they could do much in a virtual on game in that way at least.

Fair enough. I’m still excited because it’s Virtual On

I’m not uninterested in at least giving Railgun and sometimes Index stuff a chance – but yeah, at this point I’m more interested in this because Virtual On randomly getting a new game than the crossover.
